Berlin
Berlin - all cities are defined by their past, Berlin continues to work hard to come to terms with it. I spent a few days with Damien Demolder (Who has a very particular style of street photography you can find on Instagram) trying to get a sense of this place with such a short and tormented history. It's getting there. Hitler's Reichskanzlei is now the site of the best kebabs in town.
The second image is of the Memorial to persecuted homosexuals and third for the Roma and there are a few images in the selection of the extensive stellae of the holocaust memorial that I hope you will recognise as such. Eisenman, the architect, said that there was no symbolism intended in the design but the visitor will find much of his or her own making. We also went to Checkpoint Charlie, made an early morning visit to the museum quarter and ended the tour around the Potsdamer Platz. We walked miles but finally succumbed to the U Bahn though that did not stop the camera coming out.
